Android: download, install, and run

  1. Download: On your Android phone, select Download APK.
  2. Install: Open the downloaded APK. If Android asks, allow installs from the browser or file manager you used, then approve the installation.
  3. Run: Open Options Wheelhouse from the launcher. Android uses native screens; it does not open a localhost browser page.
  4. Allow background work: Keep network access available and review battery or background-data restrictions if scheduled work is delayed. Force-stopping the app prevents scheduled work until you open it again.

Windows: download, install, and run

Download the ZIP, extract it, and run the command launcher from the extracted OptionsWheelhouse folder. The installer places the application beneath %LOCALAPPDATA%\OptionsWheelhouse, normally C:\Users\<your-name>\AppData\Local\OptionsWheelhouse.

  1. Download: Select Download Windows ZIP and save options-wheelhouse-windows-v1.3.1.zip in your Downloads folder.
  2. Unpack: Right-click the downloaded ZIP, select Extract All, and then select Extract. Open the resulting OptionsWheelhouse folder.
  3. Check Node.js: Options Wheelhouse needs Node.js 18 or newer. If the installer says Node.js is missing or too old, install the current LTS version from nodejs.org, then run the Options Wheelhouse installer again.
  4. Install: Double-click install-windows.cmd and follow the messages on the screen. The launcher permits its included PowerShell installer to run only for that process; it does not permanently change your Windows execution policy. Before changing the installation, it verifies every package file against MANIFEST.txt.
  5. Run: After verification succeeds, the installer places the app in %LOCALAPPDATA%\OptionsWheelhouse\app, keeps private data separately in %LOCALAPPDATA%\OptionsWheelhouse\data, creates a limited-privilege startup task for your Windows account, and starts the private local service. Open http://127.0.0.1:3080 in your browser.
  6. Come back later: Options Wheelhouse starts after the installing user signs in to Windows. To control it yourself, open Command Prompt or PowerShell in %LOCALAPPDATA%\OptionsWheelhouse\app and run .\manage-windows.cmd status, replacing status with start, stop, repair, rollback, or uninstall when needed.

Only install a release downloaded from optionswheelhouse.com. The current release is for Alpaca Paper trading, not live-money trading. After installation, continue with the Setup Guide.
